Kerry Barry's work on exhibition at Staithes Gallery
Kerry Barry studied Creative Design for Fashion at the University of Central
Lancashire and developed her skills in a variety of media. Since then she
has continued to paint in her spare time and to design her own creative greetings
cards.
"I enjoy blending colours together and seeing the shades interact to create movement and to provide the viewer with a realistic but playful picture. I love working with bright colours. As long as they compliment each other they can provide a relaxing calming view. In my most recent paintings I have gone back to basics with repeat patterns. I entertain the idea that it is a snippet of wallpaper that could have been created years ago and I have restored part of it so it is still as fresh and vibrant as ever."
