Paul Czainski's work on exhibition at Staithes Gallery
Paul Czainski was born in Dewsbury and still lives in West Yorkshire though his work takes him all over the world. He studied at the Jacob Kramer School of Art, Leeds and then at Goldsmith's College, London where he had a highly successful sculpture show at the Elephant House Gallery and took his postgraduate diploma in 1977.
He is one of the most sought after specialist artist/decorators in the UK and his murals, trompe l'oeil paintings, graining, marbling, fabric and wallpaper desdigns grace the homes of his many celebrity clients including Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Anne Robinson, the Sultan of Brunei and Prince Amyn Aga Khan. He paints detailed still-lifes echoing the Dutch tradition for his London gallery while his cottage in Staithes inspires witty and original surrealist portrayals of seaside themes and highly skilled paintings on driftwood.
