Michael Turner's work on exhibition at Staithes Gallery

Michael Turner lives in Hampshire and works in his studios based at a farm near Lymington. After obtaining an Honours degree in Multidisciplinary Design from Buckinghamshire College in 1997, he began experimenting with various sculpting and welding techniques. Now most of his work is sculpted in stainless steel as it is such an enduring and adaptable medium. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor locations.

His inspiration comes from nature in all its forms. To reflect the coastal setting of Staithes Gallery he has created this series of mainly marine creatures. He experiments with different types of finishes on the basic stainless steel, using a variety of polishing, paint and heat techniques to produce a different piece every time.

His work is exhibited in selected galleries throughout the UK and recently featured in Harvey Nichol's, London, as well as in the Royal West of England Academy.

Illustrated below are samples of Michael's work. Please contact the gallery if you wish to discuss commissioning a piece.
