We’re all getting very excited here in Staithes in anticipation of our third, most fabulous and best ever Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage. Much loved artist and Eton’s 13th Drawing Master, Ian Burke has been working all year on paintings for his colourful new show Lobsters, Witchposts and the Full English. The exhibition will be held in our beautiful new gallery space The Sunday School in the old Wesleyan Chapel on Beckside. Our favourite chef Lisa Chapman will be cooking up treats in a pop-up cafe there too during the Festival weekend. We’re keeping Ian busy as well. He’ll be tutoring a couple of workshops in Experimental Watercolour during the weekend too. Contact the gallery for more info or if you’d like to come along to one of the workshops and learn interesting ways of using watercolours from a very inspiring teacher. Early booking is recommended. For more information about the Festival have a look at www.staithesfestival.com … and come along on Sat 13th and Sun 14th September.
